Eugène Fillol As a maître d’armes at FFF between the years 1901 and 1914. Maître Eugène Fillol was one of the driving forces behind the creation of modern fencing in Sweden. When he left Sweden to defend his country in World War One, he never left his position as maître d’armes.
Before leaving Sweden he instituted a challenger’s prize for FFF to be won at the club’s internal 3 days championship. The magnificent statue he donated has been cared for by FFF and its members throughout the years. It is now reinstated as a challenge prize, this time for the competition that bears his name. Each year’s winners will have their names engraved on a silver plaque on the base.
